Delta Trailers chooses PPG Commercial Coatings

Product performance and industry support cited as chief factors in decision.

Delta Manufacturing, Inc., a Newport, Ark.-based maker of steel trailers, has selected PPG Commercial Coatings as its paint supplier. The announcement was made by Delta vice president Les Eaves at the company's headquarters.

Delta has been manufacturing horse, livestock, equipment and cargo trailers since 1971. It is the leading trailer manufacturer in Arkansas and a member of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) and the North American Trailer Dealers Association (NATDA). The NATM represents manufacturers of light and medium duty trailers and is dedicated to improving trailer safety and performance. Eaves sits on the NATM board of directors. According to Eaves, Delta wanted a supplier with a strong commitment to the trailer industry.

"We needed a coatings partner we could rely on, one that has a demonstrated understanding of our requirements and will provide us with superior products," said Eaves. "PPG has been very involved with the NATM for years, helping us improve our industry. Combine that support with their high-quality products and the decision to work with PPG was easy."

Along with providing a complete line of OEM products appropriate for Delta's trailers, PPG representatives have helped Delta update and reconfigure its workflow process and paint booth equipment to enhance productivity and efficiency.

"PPG has taken us to a higher level. The improved finish quality of our trailers is noticeable," added Eaves. "I'm also very impressed with the service and advice we've received. PPG knows our business and wants to help; to me, that's a huge benefit."

"We are very pleased Delta has chosen PPG as its coating supplier," said Ron Yarnell, PPG Commercial Coating OEM sales manager. "We are proud to provide them with our proven technologies, total color solutions, and best-in-class service—key areas of support that are critical for Delta and the entire trailer industry."
